NOA is destroyed, its members scattered or consumed by Okikurumi. Still, Atsuma is compelled to return to the ruins of the only place he ever felt kindness and friendship. Aika has escaped from Okikurumi, but where is Shui?

Meanwhile, Atsuma has repelled the attack of Yanagi and Hyde, displaying a power that no one has seen before - but that leaves his body blackened. What is this power that not even the elders knew existed? And will he be able to use it to rescue Shui and stop Utsuho's plan?
