On earth, Jino is discovered by the resistance, who demand that he join them. Above earth, Aegis intelligence also discovers Jino, known as deserter 3-A-527, and Izare contemplates tracking and killing Jino. The boys' mysterious "sister," a powerful figure in Aegis Command, goes to earth and destroys the resistance members who menace Jino.

Leaving him unconscious and unknowing in safe hands, she covers her tracks by killing an Aegis commander. As portents of intergalactic war grow, a flashback shows the boys' childhood, and how the complexities of their relationship began.
